Next Wednesday is World Gratitude Day of Peace. Repeating a positive statement might seem like an unusual way to improve your overall wellbeing. Positive affirmations are phrases you can say out loud, in your head, or by writing them down. They are a way of helping overcome negative thoughts that can sometimes make you doubt yourself. Studies have found that regularly using positive affirmations rewires your brain to be more positive. Imagine what you can achieve and how you will feel when you hold a more positive outlook. Affirmations need to be personal to you. You can choose something to motivate yourself, to encourage positive changes in your life or to boost your self-esteem. Some people choose to say one a day, others a few. An example of a positive affirmation would be ‘I am strong’ or ‘I am successful’.
